The Project is an exterior renovation designed and constructed as part of the City of South San Francisco downtown revitalization program.
The building originally a three-story non-reinforced masonry structure used as a card parlor over time changed in use to general offices and the original masonry facade covered over.
The design by Ricky G. Mason, AIA for Collaborative Design Architects is based on materials and details viewed in historical photographs found in City archives. The bold use of color, copper awnings, articulated stucco finish and wood detailed cornice provide unity and mass to the building and visual interest to the City's most prominent downtown intersection.
