The Project is an exterior renovation designed and constructed as part of the City of South San Francisco downtown revitalization program.
The existing building used as a neighborhood convenience market for many years was a non-reinforced masonry structure whose original masonry fašade was at some past time covered with a poorly detailed stone veneer.
The design by Ricky G. Mason, AIA for Collaborative Design Architects is based on materials and details viewed in historical photographs found in City archives. The design scheme proposed removal of the pseudo rock veneer to reveal the simple masonry detail of the original construction and addition of signage and window awning accents.
