OAKLAND HILLS TENNIS CLUB - RENOVATION / EXPANSION

The Project site is located on a steep hillside adjacent to the existing clubhouse high in the Oakland hills with panoramic San Francisco Bay and City views. Construction was managed by Ricky G. Mason, AIA for Buestad Construction and included build out of remodel alterations to entrance gallery, pro shop and locker rooms building addition of 8,000 sf consisting of menís locker / showers and restroom, snack bar and restaurant kitchen and dining room, dance studio and meeting banquet rooms and outdoor decks and 10,000 sf parking lot expansion. The building remodel and addition on one level planned and designed by Collaborative Design Architects continues the linear double loaded corridor parti of the existing building to fit the hillside site and maximize views from the public rooms. The construction management required accurate pre-planning and scheduling of subcontractors and ordering of materials to facilitate construction on the steep hillside at the furthest remote end of the existing building and maintain normal on-going business operations of the club. Construction management also included providing Owner and architect with design / build and value engineering work alternatives related to accessing the work site during normal business hours of the club and mobilization of the work.
