The Project is a single family custom-speculative dwelling designed by Ricky G. Mason, AIA based on the developers market study program requirements targeted to needs of professional couple with or without children.
The site is located on a .25 acre steep-sloping, lakeside lot with water and mountain views. The site design separates the garage from the dwelling to best utilize the lot configuration and to maximize views of the lake from the dwelling.
The building design creates an interior floor plan with 3800 sf of open floor area organized on two levels and a separate detached two-car garage with workroom. The dwelling includes a main-level with entrance gallery, office, living-dining room, entertainment room, kitchen, breakfast nook, laundry and bathroom and a upper-level with hall-gallery, library, master bedroom and bath and two additional bedrooms and two full baths. The interior design creates open volumes between the main level entrance gallery and the upper level gallery to create dramatic and visually interesting interior views and offer lake views from most rooms. The exterior design uses details materials and color reminiscent of the craftsman architectural style to create a visually interesting and contemporary building architectural appearance.
